Neutral light close to daylight is helpful for make-up because colors and skin tone appear most like they do in reality. Warm white can appear more pleasant, but is less suitable for color matching.
Freelance make-up artists need sturdy outer shells, removable inserts, secure closures and ideally a rolling system for easy transport to locations.
Both have different strengths: A ring light, for example from Walimex pro, creates a ring-shaped catchlight and illuminates the front evenly. An LED panel is more flexible and can be a main light, brightener or backlight.
